The disclosure on Tuesday was the fourth batch of documents AFL disclosed on COVID-19 censoring. Now, it has been revealed that the CDC had a secret censorship website with Twitter to control the COVID narrative.
According to documents made available by America First Legal (AFL) on Tuesday, Twitter set up a gateway for public servants and “stakeholders” to submit posts that purportedly contained COVID-19 misinformation for Twitter to review.
According to papers (read below) AFL got through its legal action against the CDC, Twitter executives used the gateway to track online posts for evaluation and invited Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) officials to enroll. When Carol Crawford of the CDC sent an email titled “COVID Misinformation” with links to various tweets regarding microchips and “vaccine shedding,” Twitter’s Todd O’Boyle enrolled her in the gateway in May 2021. The channel is “the best way to get a spreadsheet like this reviewed,” according to O’Boyle.
In his response, O’Boyle stated that he agreed that her suggestions were “important trends to note” and reassured her that Twitter would investigate them.
Crawford informed O’Boyle via email on September 2 that a CDC “Lab alert” concerning PCR testing had been “misinterpreted and was shared via social media.” Crawford then designated the hashtag “pcrtest” for monitoring.
According to the records, Crawford also requested that Census Department representatives be permitted to report COVID-19 misinformation using the Twitter portal.
“Also, would there be any issues or complications stemming from flagging COVID misinformation on the portal using the existing census.gov accounts that have access?” Crawford wrote May 24.
“In recent months, millions of Americans have witnessed the peeling of the ‘misinformation’ onion. Beneath each layer of shocking details about a partnership between the federal government and Big Tech is yet another layer of connections, conspiracy, and collaboration between power centers that seek to suppress information from the American people,” Gene Hamilton, America First Legal vice-president and general counsel, said in Tuesday’s press release. “We are proud to play a leading role in fighting for the rights of all Americans and revealing this vital information to the American people.”
The disclosure on Tuesday was the fourth batch of documents AFL disclosed on COVID-19 censoring. According to the press release, the other sets published by AFL disclosed more details regarding how the government censored information about the COVID-19 pandemic, “built the evidentiary record showing that CDC specifically sent Facebook and Twitter-specific posts to take down, throttle, censor, or flag,” and associated the CDC’s regulations on in-school mask mandates to “political polling by liberal dark money group The Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF).”
KFF “is a nonprofit organization focusing on national health issues, as well as the U.S. role in global health policy,” according to it website.
According to a November AFL press release, KFF got financing from platforms such as Google and Twitter, and its officials had worked in both the Biden and Obama administrations. Drew Altman, president and CEO of the KFF, stated in an August 2021 email to Biden officials that mask regulations in schools were popular and that those who questioned the practice were “made up of the usual suspects” who are “large enough to make some trouble,” according to AFL.
