Paul Landis, who was a Secret Service agent assigned to First Lady Jackie Kennedy’s security detail that year and a witness to the JFK assassination, has revealed new secrets after 60 years.

A somewhat unexpected development in the JFK assassination story has blown a hole in the official government account of the president’s death.

In an exclusive interview with The New York Times on Saturday, Paul Landis, 88, offered his revelations about what transpired on November 22, 1963, in Dallas, the day JFK was purportedly assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald. According to the Daily Mail, Landis was a Secret Service agent assigned to First Lady Jackie Kennedy’s security detail that year.

The Warren Commission’s main contention is destroyed by Landis’ findings about what transpired 60 years ago, and it is now unclear whether Oswald was the only shooter.

Because it appears to defy logic and science, this hypothesis has been dubbed the “magic bullet” by millions of skeptics.

Landis told the Times that he was the one who found the alleged “magic bullet” after Kennedy was shot, and he described the chaotic scene that provided him with the opportunity.

There was nobody there to secure the scene, and that was a big, big bother to me. All the agents that were there were focused on the president.

A crowd was gathering. This was all going on so quickly. And I was just afraid that — it was a piece of evidence, that I realized right away. Very important. And I didn’t want it to disappear or get lost. So it was, “Paul, you’ve got to make a decision,” and I grabbed it.

Landis insisted that the bullet was not “magical” in any way. According to him, Kennedy was shot in the rear but the bullet “undercharged” and popped back out before the President’s body was taken out of the limo. It never touched Connally.

Landis continued to tell the Times that, despite always believing Oswald to be the only shooter, he is now unsure.

At this point, I’m beginning to doubt myself. Now I begin to wonder.

James Robenalt, a lawyer and author of four books on American history who practices in Cleveland, told the Times that Landis’s disclosures do definitely raise the prospect of a second gunman and other issues.

If what he says is true, which I tend to believe, it is likely to reopen the question of a second shooter, if not even more. If the bullet we know as the magic or pristine bullet stopped in President Kennedy’s back, it means that the central thesis of the Warren Report, the single-bullet theory, is wrong.

The fresh witness testimony and the notion that JFK was killed by a single person led Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the 35th President’s nephew and Democratic presidential contender, to declare the “dead” status of the magic bullet theory.

The magic bullet theory is now dead. This preposterous construction has served as the mainstay of the theory that a single shooter murdered President Kennedy since the Warren Commission advanced it 60 years ago under the direction of the former CIA Director Allen Dulles whom my uncle fired. The recent revelations by JFK’s Secret Service protector Paul Landis have prompted even the New York Times-among the last lonely defenders of the Warren Report-to finally acknowledge its absurdity.
