This article covers all of Joe Biden’s major scandals in 2023, like his decision to support Ukraine and handling classified documents.

Joe Biden’s Scandals 2023 1

Joe Biden broke his record every day he was in office since he is the oldest president to be elected in US history, at 81. That might be the greatest achievement of Biden’s time in the White House—that he will have survived a whole term in his advanced age, barring a catastrophe during the next 300 or so days.

Reflecting on US President Joe Biden’s third year in office and all the faux pas, missteps, and mistakes he made along the way is worthwhile as 2023 draws to an end.

Classified Docs for Me, Not Thee

The mishandling of confidential documents by former President Donald Trump was a major issue throughout 2022. As Trump’s trial is still underway, it likely continue to be a major story for the majority of 2023.

However, the media was shocked to discover that Biden, who had previously referred to Trump’s careless handling of sensitive materials as “completely irresponsible,” had kept secret documents he had taken to a Virginia think tank and his Delaware home’s garage while serving as vice president.

Biden played down the gravity of the situation when he made his initial public comments about the mismanagement, telling reporters that he had “no regrets” and that “there’s no ‘there’ there.” Later, when his offices were being “packed up,” he blamed the accident on his team, saying that “they didn’t do the kind of job that should have been done to go thorough through every single piece of literature that’s there.”

The US media said earlier this month that special counsel Robert Hur is not anticipated to press charges in the case. Nevertheless, Republicans were not blind to the “double standards” in the handling of the Biden and Trump cases, with many asking why an FBI raid on Biden’s properties was not conducted as it had been done with his predecessor.

While Biden has consistently had low approval ratings elsewhere, Trump’s popularity among supporters has increased due to the classified documents issue as his case and others are still pending in court.

The Balloons Are Coming! (Biden’s Failed China Policy)

After then-Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) met with separatist leaders in Taiwan, which infuriated the Chinese government, tensions with China were already high in 2022. When a balloon materialized in the skies off the coast of Alaska in 2023, things only became stranger.

It was identified as a Chinese espionage balloon by the US administration. It was an independent weather observation balloon that had blown off course, according to the Chinese authorities. The balloon was followed by the media as it crossed the border from Canada into the US and across the nation. China forewarned the US against shooting down the object, and Republicans attacked Biden for being weak for not taking quick action.

Ultimately, to the ire of China and the dissatisfaction of Republicans, Biden waited for the balloon to cross the US before shooting it down off the coast of South Carolina.

Strangely, more balloons and other unexplained objects started to arrive over US and Canadian airspace; the majority of them were shot down once more, but no explanation was provided as to what the things were. Around this period, a Boy Scout group reported that their weather balloon experiment disappeared; however, the State Department refuted any likelihood that they were to blame.

According to an exclusive report by investigative journalists Lee Fang and Jack Poulson, Moderna has been reported to hire former FBI agents to secretly control the vaccine debate.

China-US relations took a wrong turn at the beginning and got worse in 2023. As a result of Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen’s April visit to the US, tensions between the US and China increased throughout the year. McCarthy was the House Speaker at the time.

But Biden had another idea. During the APEC meeting in San Francisco, Chinese President Xi Jinping was among the international leaders in attendance. It was the ideal chance to mend fences with the biggest industrial company in the world.

Things went well, Biden said during a press conference after the meeting. According to Biden, the two commanders tried to clear up misunderstandings by talking about common concerns and reestablishing military-to-military interaction.

Everything appeared to be proceeding according to schedule until Biden opted to answer one more question after ending the engagement:

“Mr. President, after today, would you still refer to President Xi as a ‘dictator’? This is a term that you used earlier this year,” asked the reporter.

“Well, look, he is,” the president responded, prompting almost immediate criticism from the administration that Biden had just spent a great deal of effort trying to win over. In the days that followed, a video of Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s response to Biden’s remarks went viral. Later on, Blinken explained the obvious wince as a result of a sore neck.

Biden, Famous for His ‘Empathy’ Ignores & Insults Disaster Victims

Near February, a fire broke out near East Palestine, Ohio, as a result of a Norfolk Southern train carrying hazardous chemicals derailing. Officials from the city, state, and Norfolk decided to start a controlled demolition of the materials instead of trying to put out the fire.

Dangerous chemicals were released into the air, soil, and water as a result of the explosion. Less than a week after the derailment and three days after the explosion, residents were told they may return after being evacuated.

However, months later, people in East Palestine were still raising the alarm about health problems they thought were related to the chemicals, and other films that appeared to depict an oily rainbow coating over surrounding streams and in muddy soil went viral.

As 2023 draws to an end, Biden has backed out of his promised visit, claiming his packed schedule. He did, however, succeed in finding a sizable amount of time for a vacation in Delaware.

By August 2023, US media reported that Biden had been gone from the White House almost four out of ten days, mostly at his two homes in Delaware and the presidential retreat Camp David in Maryland.

“It’s now been just over 7 months – 213 days since the derailment and 186 days since [Biden] promised he would visit,” Rep. Bill Johnson (R-OH) wrote in a tweet this August. “He’s had multiple opportunities. Sadly, the only reasonable explanation at this point for his choosing not to visit is that he simply doesn’t care.”

In the meantime, Biden’s potential rival for the presidency in 2024 gained support from people in the swing state when he traveled to East Palestine in the same month as the accident. The former president referred to the government’s handling of the mishap as a “betrayal.”

When it took Biden 13 days to travel to Hawaii following terrible wildfires that claimed over 100 lives, his lack of compassion for those affected by natural disasters was once again evident. When the US president did arrive, he made an effort to relate to the victims by telling them about a house fire that “almost” destroyed his car and cat, which infuriated more people.

“Lightning struck at home, on a little lake that’s outside of our home—not a lake, a big pond—and hit a wire that came up underneath our home into the heating ducts and air conditioning ducts,” the president said. “To make a long story short, I almost lost my wife, my ’67 Corvette, and my cat.”

The 2004 fire was reported at the time as “small” and “confined to the kitchen,” with no injuries reported and a 20-minute containment period.

Nobody Believes in Zelensky Like Biden

Although Biden’s poll numbers have never been particularly high, they did experience a little increase in 2022 after Russia launched its special military operation. A month later, he declared that the American people support Ukraine and asked NATO and the EU to stay united “today and tomorrow and the day after and for the years and decades to come” in an address given in Warsaw, Poland.

He expressed this opinion frequently in 2022 and 2023, but during the year, the American people and several NATO partners began to oppose Biden’s war of proxies against Russia.

At the beginning of the special operation, polls revealed that Americans were strongly in favor of helping Ukraine; however, this has since changed, with over half of Americans opposing further aid as early as August. The bleak internal assessment of the capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces revealed in secret Pentagon documents that were released on Discord most likely did little to improve America’s opinion of Ukraine.

The Republican party, which at the beginning of the conflict featured a small faction opposed to funding, entirely turned against future aid as public opinion on Ukraine soured. Even US Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who notably urged Ukrainian marines to violate the Minsk peace deal in 2017 alongside the late Senator John McCain (R-AZ), publicly opposed providing additional help to Ukraine.

Republicans have persisted in resisting Biden’s demands for Congress to approve an additional $60 billion in aid for Ukraine, citing border concessions that his supporters find too repulsive.

September’s legislative elections in Slovakia resulted in the election of Prime Minister Robert Fico, who campaigned on a platform of cutting off all aid to Ukraine, a goal that was subsequently endorsed by the Slovak parliament in November.

There were further breaks in NATO on the situation in Ukraine. Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, pledged to block €50 billion in aid intended for Ukraine in December and would do so for the foreseeable future.

Ceasefires Are Bad, Mmkay?

Biden has performed much worse when it comes to the other battle that the US is supporting, which is Israel’s invasion and bombing campaign of Gaza.

57% of Americans disapprove of his handling of the crisis, compared to only 33% who agree, according to a poll released earlier this month. According to the same survey, about one-third of participants thought the Biden White House was endorsing Israel’s policies excessively.

Biden and administration officials have taken a little tougher stance against the Israeli government, but they have consistently refused to set any red lines that would force the US to reevaluate arming and providing aid to Israel.

Being the only member state to vote against the UN Security Council’s repeated calls for a ceasefire, the US has vetoed these requests.

There is a humanitarian crisis in the region, as several human rights organizations have warned. The UN reports that since Israel started its operation, more than 20,000 Palestinians have died and more than 570,000 are malnourished.

Biden’s popularity within his base has declined as a result of the administration’s unwavering support for Israel’s acrimonious military campaign, and calls to change the administration’s approach to Israel are becoming more and more frequent inside his party.

Additionally, there have been numerous pro-Palestinian protests across the nation, and Biden’s reelection campaign is practically guaranteed to fail if he cannot stop the trend before November. Additionally, Biden has been losing support among young and minority voters.

Fear & Loathing in the White House: The Hunter Biden Story

Interesting debates involving first sons and daughters have occurred at the White House. Federal officials filed a lawsuit against Neil Bush, the son of former US President George H. W. Bush, alleging that he violated the “conflict-of-interest regulation.” In Mongolia, Donald Trump Jr. accidentally shot a deer in danger. Malia Obama was found to be a smoker. It seemed like a big thing at the time that the Bush twins had been cited for underage drinking and that they had supposedly partied with American celebrity Ashton Kutcher.

However, it seems that no first family scandal compares to the much-discussed presidential son, Hunter Biden. In fairness, though, Hunter is regarded as the most historically exposed first son. Just before the 2020 election, he is said to have left a laptop at a repair shop in Delaware, the contents of which were later leaked to the media.

The laptop contained images and videos of Hunter smoking what appears to be crack cocaine in various states of undress, including inside a drug rehab facility, while driving his car at high speeds on the highway and allegedly with escorts. The laptop was first suppressed by a large portion of the mainstream media and major social media sites.

Numerous financial documents and emails exchanged between Hunter and his international business associates were also included. Joe Biden has been plagued by that particular feature throughout 2023.

The House Oversight Committee, which is in charge of the current probe into the Biden family, claims that funds were transferred through Hunter and James Biden, the president’s brother, before arriving at Joe’s desk.

Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) presented proof of at least two instances in which James Biden deposited funds into Joe Biden’s account after payments into Hunter or James Biden’s accounts were made by an American hospital operator and a Chinese corporation.

Additionally, there was evidence on the laptop that Joe had met in person with several of Hunter’s foreign business associates, including those from Ukraine, Russia, Mexico, China, and Kazakhstan, and that he had written letters of recommendation to universities for the offspring of a Chinese business associate. Additionally, emails from Hunter complaining about giving half of his salary to his father were found.

Biden has consistently denied meeting, speaking, or discussing business with his son’s business associates during his campaign and presidency.

House Republicans decided to formally begin an investigation into Joe Biden’s impeachment at the beginning of December. The White House denounced it as politically motivated, as it has done since the investigation’s inception.

“I did not. And it’s just a bunch of lies. They’re lies. I did not. They’re lies.” Despite materials shown by congressional leaders, the president told reporters in December.

Although the gun and tax accusations against Hunter Biden are unlikely to be used against him, he was also indicted for them.

When cocaine was discovered in the White House over the summer, Hunter also seemed to give his father’s administration some more trouble; nevertheless, the matter was dismissed by the Secret Service after two weeks without a suspect. The White House maintained that it didn’t belong to any member of the Biden family, including Hunter, who was there right before it was found, even though there was widespread criticism of Hunter because of his past involvement with illegal substances.

The Inevitability of Age & Decline

Likely, Biden doesn’t recall meeting Hunter’s associates, which is why he keeps denying that they ever met.

Even though Biden’s age was a concern for him during the campaign, rewatching footage from 2020 shows that he appears youthful in comparison to the present, while this is true of many presidents both before and after the White House. Biden began his administration later than his predecessors.

The 81-year-old president has made false claims about having been at Ground Zero the day after September 11, looked lost while attempting to exit the stage, frequently stumbled over words, stated that the surprise attack by Hamas on October 7 occurred 65 years ago, tripped over a wire while giving a speech, and became disoriented while viewing the reef laying at the tomb of the unknown soldier.

In August, a staggering 69% of Democrats and 77% of Americans alike acknowledged that they were worried about Joe Biden’s age and whether he was still physically and psychologically capable of serving another term.

“I’m going to bed, I don’t know about you,” Biden declared following a 26-minute meeting in Hanoi, Vietnam. The president’s reputation was not enhanced by the September gaffe; rather, it raised greater concerns about the mental stability of the head of state.
